William Coleman Allen biography
Photocopy of short typewritten biography. Crossed the plains to Utah with the pioneers as a child in 1847, settled with family in Mill Creek Canyon and, in 1851, in Draper. In 1876, called by Brigham Young to head the colonization of the Little Colorado River settlements in Arizona. Moved back to Draper in 1884.
John A. Blythe journal
Photocopy of typescript. Describes his trip from Salt Lake City to the site of Joseph City and daily life in the United Order in that town. The diary also discusses the author's departure on a supply trip to Salt Lake City and concludes with his arrival in St. George, Utah en route.
A one-page autobiographical sketch entitled "History of John A. Blythe, From his birth to Feb. 3rd, 1876" is also included.

Coleman family histories
Photocopies of typescripts. File contains excerpts from three documents, all originally compiled by Evans Coleman: "History of the Coleman Family;" "Saint Johns Purchase;" and "Biography of Emma Beck Coleman." These documents were originally compiled between 1938 and 1942, although all of them refer to events either in Missouri during the late 1830s or in Arizona during the 1880s.
Arza E. Hinckley diary
Photocopy of typescript. Covers the first year of Hinckley's mission to the Arizona Indians. Includes account of the author receiving his assignment from Lorenzo Snow (1814-1901), one of the Twelve Apostles of the Mormon Church; the trip to Arizona; and descriptions of Hinckley's work among the Indians. Diary entries are lengthy and very detailed.
Journal David H. McAllister : northern Arizona period
Typescript. Includes short autobiographical sketch of author's life from his birth to his mission call to Arizona in 1876. Rest of the text is a daily journal covering the trip from Salt Lake City to Arizona, daily life in the Mormon settlements, and a trip back to Utah in 1877. Almost all of McAllister's journal entries are one line in length.
