File contains materials relating to the service of Vern C. Bloxham for the U.S. Army during World War II. Materials contain summary of Vern C. Bloxham's combat experiences on Okinawa in 1945 in which he was severely wounded, and his narrow escapes from death. There is also a poem written by Bloxham titled "Going Over" (written Feb. 18, 1945). Dated approximately 2000.
Verna Stephens Long papers, 1999
Materials contain a memoir written by Verna Stephens Long about her experiences during World War II. She tells of working as an airplane engine mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, learning of the deaths of two of her brothers in Europe, and visiting American military cemeteries in Europe fifty years later. She includes poems written by her mother, Angelena VanDallen Stephens. Contains copied photographs of her mother and brothers. Dated 1999.
