Photographs and negatives of the Ferris family
Collection includes photographs, some hand-colored, and some corresponding negatives with images of the Ferris family. The Ferris family were a frontier family in the West. Warren A. Ferris was a fur trapper in the Rocky Mountains in the mid-19th century, and his son, Charles, was a Texas Ranger. Photographs were originally taken between the 1860s and the 1970s.

Collection includes black and white photographs, one cased tintype, two acrylic paintings, and some corresponding safety film negatives of images of Christopher "Kit" Carson. Dated approximately 1860-1889.

Collection possibly includes matte collodion silver, direct carbon (Fresson), selenium toned gelatin silver, bromoil transfer, letterpress halftone (black and white as well as color), and possibly offset lithography.
