Collection includes black and white photographs, one cased tintype, two acrylic paintings, and some corresponding safety film negatives of images of Christopher "Kit" Carson. Dated approximately 1860-1889.

Tintype in box 6: Condition restricted; permission to use items must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services. Negatives in folder 7: Open for public research. Items kept in cold storage; access requires 72 hours advance notice.

Custodial History

The photographs in this collection were primarily assembled by historian Edwin L. Sabin. Others were added to the collection from the papers of Granville Stuart and Robert Ellison, which had been partially arranged by Fred Rosenstock.
