Bathsheba W. Bigler Smith autobiography

Photocopy of a 260-page handwritten autobiography. Smith includes copies of correspondence and patriarchal blessings in her account. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1837, lived with the Mormons in Missouri and Illinois, married George Albert Smith in 1841, allowed him to take additional wives, came to Utah in 1849, and served as president of the Relief Society.

Photocopies of handwritten diaries. Smith writes about coming to Kirtland, Ohio, in 1836 and his subseqent moves to Nauvoo, Illinois, and to Utah in 1851. He held numerous positions in the Mormon Church and was active as a businessman and as a politician.

Also included are typescripts of Job Smith's "Recollections" of the first president of the Mormon Church, Joseph Smith (1805-1844), and photocopies of handwritten and typewritten certificates. The letters are from prminent Mormon Church leaders. Also included is a photocopy of a handwritten patriarchal blessing received by Smith.
