Daniel Duncan McArthur autobiography

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography, photocopy of the manuscript, and a typescript of the item. McArthur was born in New York State; joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint in 1832; lived in Kirtland, Ohio, in Missouri, and in Nauvoo, Illinois. McArthur stayed at Winter Quarters, Nebraska, migrated to Utah in 1848, experienced troubles with Ute Indians, and served on a mission to England for the LDS Church from 1852 to 1856. Theodore McKean family record book

One handwritten record book (150 pages) and one newspaper clipping. The record book documents the genealogy of the McKean family. It also includes a short autobiography of Theodore McKean. He describes his youth, his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his various business affairs. Materials dated 1877 to 1887.

Alexander McRae letters

This collection consists of a photocopy of a handwritten transcription of letters that were transcribed from a microfilm copy of letters composed by Alexander McRae. Most of the letters were addressed to McRae's children and other family members. They deal largely with personal matters, but he mentions some business concerns and recounts some of the news of Salt Lake City. Some are official letters concerned with bishopric and related church matters. Dated 1880 to 1886.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of an printed brochure. The item includes an "autobiographical sketch" which Annie dictated to her son, Albert E. Bowen. Annie tells about her early life in England, her joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1851, her migration to Utah in 1861, and her move to Samaria, Idaho, in 1876. Also included is a copy of the funeral services for Annie in 1929.

Biographical sketch of the life of John Mercer

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Mercer was born in England in 1818, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, and later to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1848. He settled in American Fork, Utah, and died in 1860.

John T. Miller letter

Abstract

The folder contains 2 pages of a typewritten and signed letter dated 15 November 1907 and addressed to "Dear Brother." John T. Miller praises the magazine "The Character Builder" by referring to the endorsements from local Mormon Church leaders and Mormon missionaries.
