Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Sadie Chipman writes about her father, Washburn Chipman. Washburn was born in Canada in 1829 and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1836. He moved near Nauvoo, Illinois, and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1847. He later settled in American Fork, Utah, where he died in 1926

Scope and Contents A small collection of copies of items found in Special Collections that are suspected to be forgeries. Includes two possible Hoffman forgeries: an 1829 letter from Lucy Mack Smith to her sister-in-law Mary Pierce, and an 1831 letter from John Webster that mentions Joseph Smith. Also includes two copies of "Reminiscences of Mary Bailey Smith," wife of Samuel H. Smith and Joseph Smith, Jr. letter to Amos Peterson, 1842. Scope and Contents

Contains two historical documents (late 19th century) acquired by Hofmann during his LDS mission in England. Also includes notes taken by Hoffman during his mission, mostly containing references to gospel doctrines and contains a letter to Hoffman's wife, Doralee Olds Hofmann, related to selling manuscripts. Later installment includes Carbon County court documents and other items related to forgeries.

Contains documents related to the 1935 publication of Maya Society publication number 7, including positive prints of the manuscript, a typescript of the publication's introduction, a printed announcement of publication, and a printed article and later comments regarding the disputed authenticity of the manuscript, which is now accepted as a forgery.
