Contains an albumen stereo card showing the Ashton family in Kaysville, Utah. It was taken by Andrew J. Russell, who was with C.R. Savage and Alfred A. Hart to photograph and document the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad in this Mormon settlement in the Utah Territory. Andrew J. Russell and C.R. Materials include a albumen stereograph taken in 1872 by John K. Hillers and published by J. F. Jarvis. The photograph was taken on the banks of a tributary of the Colorado River during J. W. Powell's expedition in 1872. Another of the photographer's cameras can be seen on the opposite bank.
