Collection includes twenty-one letters written by Gerald Leander Butler to his sister Eva May Butler Israelsen, which document his experiences in the United States Army and discuss family events and news. Also includes photographs of Butler with fellow soldiers and officers; images of Butler's Army garrison; various San Diego beach scenes; and an image of the San Diego YMCA building.
