Handwritten diaries and letters. The diaries were kept from 1891 to 1894 when Black was serving as a missionary for the Mormon Church in Great Britain. The two letters were written to him by a son and a daughter when he was living in Manti, Utah.

Included among these personal papers are papers about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many of the materials are also genealogy records documenting the family history of the Black, Murphy, and Bischoff families, as well as Myrna Jean Murphy Black.
