Scope and Contents

Contains materials which pertain to the life of JoAn Borg Bitton and her mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Italy Catania Mission, and in particular, the Island of Malta. Materials include a variety of printed materials such as newspapers, periodicals, maps, family records, and articles; containing information collected by Bitton about Malta and the history of missionary work on the island, as well as written and email correspondence with family members and Church members in Malta. Also includes a variety of multimedia materials including photographs, slides, 8mm motion picture films, and cassette tapes. Dated 1912 to 2010.

Biographical History

JoAn Borg Bitton (1937- ) is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who served as a missionary in Malta.

Beverly JoAn Borg was born on October 6, 1937, in Port Angeles, Washington to parents Edward and Alta Borg. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile from 1983 to 1984, after which she married a second time to Ronald Davis Bitton in 1985. In total, they had 10 children together, and served a senior couple mission in Malta in the Italy Catania Mission. In October 1989, she created "il Moghdija", a newsletter for the Maltese members of the Church.
