Bound, typewritten, carbon copy of William Burton's journal (1841-1851), which includes extracts from Joseph Wood's journal (1839-1840). The record gives a detailed account of the journey to Utah with Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball in 1848, missionary experiences, and some family genealogy.

Photocopy of a handwritten and printed certificate dated 10 Aug. 1856 certifying that Thomas Pierce had been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England. The item was signed by the "First Presidency" of that Church.
Heber C. Kimball and Brigham young stock subscription certificate
Handwritten subscription certificate signed by nine persons and two corporations and dated 3 March 1866. The item was signed by Brigham Young, second president of the Mormon Church, and Heber C. Kimball, an apostle in the same faith.
Brigham Young funeral announcement for Heber C. Kimball
The folder contains a handwritten announcement of the death of the Mormon Apostle, Heber C. Kimball. Young also states when the funeral would be held. The item is dated 22 June 1868 and was probably penned by one of Brigham Young's secretaries who also signed Brigham Young's name to it.

Photocopy of a handwritten and signed letter addressed to the United States Senator from Illinois, Stephen A. Douglas. The item was signed by Young, Heber C. Kimball, and Willard Richards. Young writes to Douglas to secure his support for the admission of the Deseret as an official state in the nation.
