Typewritten and signed letter dated September 24, 1920 and addressed to Miss Miriam Taylor of Provo, Utah. The letter informs Miss Taylor that she has been "selected as a missionary to labor in New Zealand" for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is expected to leave in November of 1920.

The other item is typed, undated, and relates to the conferring of the priesthood in the Mormon Church. Each item is endorsed by Heber J. Grant and the other members of the First Presidency of the Mormon Church.

This collection contains papers, certificates, and photographs relating to William W. Phelps, son of Henry E. and Mary Catherine Phelps. The collection also includes material relating to his LDS mission to Britain around 1903 as well as in the Pioneer and Ensign stakes. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, 16 February, 1866 and died 30 August, 1945.
