Abstract

Two page letter from Susan Ertz to the editor of the Boston Evening Transcript. Ertz wrote the letter in response to comments that had been made in the paper because of her book “The Proselyte” about Mormons. She addresses what she feels are the problems with many books about Mormons and says that there are only a few which are worth reading, which she names. Dated 1933.

Photocopies of a typewritten book draft with handwritten corrections. The book "Family Kingdom" is a fictionalized account of the lives of the author's parents, John W. Taylor (1858-1916), an apostle in the Mormon Church, and Janet Maria Woolley Taylor (1870- ), a polygamous wife.

Handwritten poems and a letter fragment. The missive is from the bottom of a page with Field's signature on it. The poems are "In New Orleans" which is signed and "The Baby Prayer" from which the signature has been cut out.
