Ira Hyer diaries
This collection consists of photocopies of Hyer's diaries. Hyer was called as a Mormon missionary to serve in the Society Islands and labored there from 1912 to 1915. From 1914 to 1915 he served as mission president of the Society Islands Mission. He was a soldier during World War I but saw no action being in Wales when the armistice was signed.

Materials include photographs, letters, and documents related to Charles J. Langston's mission to Tonga from 1916 to 1918 and his death in Tonga in 1918. There is a letter to the family from the First Presidency and signed by Heber J. Grant, a photograph of Langston's tombstone in Tonga taken in 2002, letters from his mission president, and a letter home written by Langston himself. Dated 1916-2002.
