Edmund Lovell Ellsworth papers
Contains a flash drive with a digital copy of Ellsworth's journal giving an account of his service in England, a journal kept while in prison in Yuma, Arizona, for polygamy, and a brief autobiography. Also includes a digital copy of a short journal and life sketches recorded by Ellsworth's wife, Mary Ann Jones; various manuscripts, photographs and family portraits; a family bible; and Ellsworth Family Organization information. Materials date from 1856 to 1925.
Winslow Farr journals
Collection includes daily accounts of his family, his church mission to England (vol. 2), the Utah War, persecutions concerning his practice of polygamy, his subsequent prison sentence, and his life in Colonia Dublán, Chihuahua, Mexico. Typescripts of the journals are also included in the collection.
James Madison Flake diaries
Handwritten diary kept from 1887 to 1889 when Flake was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England. Also included is a handwritten autobiography and diary. Flake summarizes his life to the year 1888 at which time he began a diary with many gaps and many short entries. Dates range from 1887 to 1929.
Samuel Francis journal
Journal of Samuel Francis kept from 1850-1857, while he was serving a mission in England, Italy, and Switzerland. Contains a photocopy of the original journal, a photocopy of a typescript of the journal, several pedigree charts, and a biographical sketch. The journal is 245 pages long on pages that measure approximately 7-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches.
Gilbert Henry Van Schoonhoven journal and letter, 1866-1868
Contains the missionary journal of Gilbert Van Schoonhoven, kept while he was serving as a Latter-day Saint missionary to the British Isles, from 1866 to 1868. Also includes a letter written to Gilbert from his wife Mary Emma while he was on his mission. Dated 1866-1868.
William H. Homer research papers
Collection includes handwritten and typewritten research notes, articles, genealogies, diaries, and biographies. Also included is Homer family correspondence. The family members lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The notes relate to Homer's research on Martin Harris (1783-1875). Also included is a diary Homer's father, William Harrison Homer, Sr., kept while he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England from 1867 to 1868.
John Francis Howells missionary diary
Contains the missionary diary of John Francis Howells, who served in the British Mission from 1892-1894. He served primarily in Liverpool and Macclesfield, England; and, Cardiff, Aberdare, and Cwnbran, Wales. This diary is from 1893.
Oliver Boardman Huntington papers
Collection contains diaries, ephemera, and patriarchal blessings produced by Oliver Boardman Huntington and his son, Oliver B. Huntington. Items document the early history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Latter-day Saint exodus to the West, and the establishment and early development of Utah. Materials date from between 1843 and 1932.
