Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries with a typed copy of one volume. Martin kept diaries apparently in three volumes. The second and third volumes covering the time from 1854 to 1857 are found with the collection. A typed copy of the first diary covering the years from 1853 to 1854 is also included. Martin writes about his work as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England. He returned to the United States in 1857 and traveled by rail to Iowa City, Iowa. Scope and Contents Materials include William Harrison Maughan's original journal that he kept from February 1875 to July 1876 while serving a mission in England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1874 to 1876. It describes Maughan's sickness in England and his efforts to preach to the people, including family members and other ministers. Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a handwritten diary. McBride left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the spring of 1857, and he went with a handcart company to the east. He later got passage to England where he served his mission.

Includes descriptions of his early life, his life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his service as a Mormon missionary in England, and his life as an early pioneer in Utah. Diaries also include reminiscent accounts of early Church history written by Huntington later in life. There are many gaps in the record.
