Contains extensive typed notes by Gates for locating town names in the Yucatan peninsula and their proper names in the Chumayel language. Place names are taken from a 1549 tax list, the Chilam Balam of Chumayel, and a text titled "Relaciones." Contains also notes on the characteristics of various Mayan places in the Yucatan peninsula, including population, geographic features, rulers, and deity.
