William H. Homer research papers
Collection includes handwritten and typewritten research notes, articles, genealogies, diaries, and biographies. Also included is Homer family correspondence. The family members lived in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. The notes relate to Homer's research on Martin Harris (1783-1875). Also included is a diary Homer's father, William Harrison Homer, Sr., kept while he was on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England from 1867 to 1868.
William Henry Hooper letter
Handwritten letter addressed to the "Hon. E. Smith, Probate Judge for Great Salt Lake Co." Hooper states that he is submitting an inventory of the estate of the late Almon Whiting Babbitt. The estate items were to be set apart for the use of the deceased's widow and family.
Edward Hunter letter
Handwritten letter and typescript. The letter is dated November 27, 1882 and is addressed to Nancy Kennedy. Hunter expresses concern over the disenfranchising of members of the Mormon Church by the United States government.
Hutchins family newsletters
Newletters and biographies. The materials relate to the Hutchings family of Utah. Many of their ancestors joined the Mormon Church in the nineteenth century and migrated to Utah. In the newsletters are excerpts from diaries and autobiographies.
Ardelia Narcissus George Hutchinson autobiography and genealogy
Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography and family genealogy. Hutchinson was born and raised in Florida, remembers seeing the veterans of the American Civil War return, talks about her married life, and writes her move to Utah and later to Idaho.
Niels Christian Jensen autobiography and day book
Photocopies of a handwritten autobiography and a day book. Jensen writes about his life in Denmark including his participation in the war with Prussia in 1864. Jensen also relates his migration to the United States; his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; his settling in Manti and Richmond, Utah; and his later move to the Rexburg, Idaho, area.
Andrew Nielson Christiansen Jenson biographies
Photocopy of a typewritten biography. The item contains information about the life of Andrew Nielsen Christiansen Jensen and his conversion to the Mormon faith. His family was among the first in their area of Denmark to join this new religion, and they migrated as pioneers to Utah and later to Mexico.
Joel H. Johnson autobiography
Typewitten autobiography. Johnson was born at Grafton, Massachusetts, and converted to the Mormon Church. He lived with the Mormons in Ohio, Illinois, and Utah. He helped organize "Zion's Camp" and settled in serveral places in Utah.
Seth Johnson family history
Handwritten and typewritten biographies, diaries, newspaper clippings, and family genealogical records. Included are biographies of Benjamin F. Johnson (1818-1905), Joel Hill Johnson (1802-1882), and Seth Johnson (1839-1927). The Johnson family joined the Mormon Church in the 1830s, lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and later migrated to Utah where they settled in various communities.
Harriet Emeline Adair Jolley autobiography
Autobiography written by Harriet Emeline Adair Jolley including digital copies and transcription. Harriet started writing her life story in 1948 and wrote about topics like living the United Order and life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah. She finished her life story in 1968 by writing "A Sketch of Arthur Jolley's Life" beginning with his birth until his death Aug. 21, 1947.
