Identifier: MSS SC 3273

Scope and Contents

Letter dated 16 July 1866 from Inland, Iowa. This is a powerful letter of religious zeal from "Millie" to her "Parents, Brothers, and Sisters." In the letter, she describes an elaborate vision she had where God showed her "a cave in the hill." In the cave were some "little casks" and she "saw the rich gleam of gold near them." She also talks of buying some property which is like the one in her vision. It is not clear if the author is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or another branch of the Restoration.
