Brigham Young University class ring, bearing graduation date of 1970. Engraved on the inside with the initials of Horrace Wayne Smith, and his degree (i.e., "BS"). The ring is gold with a synthetic blue stone.

Biographical / Historical
Horrace Wayne Smith was born in Texas to parents Billie Herron Smith and Buna Bell Brummett on March 8, 1947. He was a former football tight end for BYU. He eventually went on to coach football in Nevada and was inducted into the Clark County High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2000.

Custodial History
Ring was purchased by Smith at the time of his graduation from Brigham Young University. He later sold the ring to Huntington Jewelers, which donated it to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections in 2020.
