The Box Elder Stake in northwestern Utah was organized in 1877.

Box Elder County is located in the north-western part of Utah. Mormon pioneers began to settle in the area around 1851. In 1855 Apostle Lorenzo Snow was called to preside over the area, and in 1877 the Box Elder Stake was organized. The Box Elder Stake Tabernacle (formerly Brigham City Tabernacle) is a beautiful meetinghouse/concert hall built after the neo-Gothic style, and was constructed by Mormon pioneers in 1897.
