Biographical / Historical
Hyrum Otterstrom (1860-1944) helped to settle Cleveland, Utah.
Hyrum Otterstrom was born on May 28, 1860, in Ephraim, Utah, the third child of parents Jonas Jonasson and Hilda Amalia Ahlgren Otterstrom. Hyrum married Thora Sine Wilhelmina Anderson Morteman on March 7, 1889, in Manti, Utah. They had five children: SMary Andria (1890-1975), Hilda Amanda (1892-1944), Druzilla Cammilla (1895-1899), Joseph Hyrum (1897-1956), and Thora Charlotte (1901-1964).
Hyrum and his family went to Huntington, Utah, so he could help build the Cleveland Canal to bring culinary water to the town of Cleveland. This canal was so well constructed that it is still in use today.
Hyrum died on March 3, 1944 in Cleveland, Utah.

Jonas Otterstrom (1820-1884) was a Mormon pioneer who helped to settle Utah.
Jonas Jonasson Otterstrom was born on December 7, 1820, in Eksharad, Sweden, to parents Jonas Jonasson and Stina Christophersdatter Otterstrom. He married Hilda Amalia Ahlgren on September 27, 1857, in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were the parents of four children: Charlotte (1858-1933), Hyrum (1860-1944), Charles (1862-1902), and Orson (1864-1868).
Jonas died on April 30, 1884, in Ephraim, Utah.
