Contains the papers of the Henry Noble and Maria Elizabeth Wells family, including photographs, "daybooks" or journals, photographs, a Polygott Bible, documents relating to the executions of the wills of both Henry and Maria, and other miscellaneous documents. Materials dated 1847-1913.

Jacqueline Aitken-Genia (1956-) is a family historian.
Jacqueline Aitken-Genia was born January 31, 1956. She has been involved in preserving the memory of Henry Noble and Maria Elizabeth Wells through the donation of their papers and other belongings to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections department of the Harold B. Lee Library.
Aitken-Genia resides in Connecticut.
Biographical History
The Wells family (1851-) were associated with wool and coal manufacturing and were residents of Massachusetts in the mid-19th century.
Henry Noble Wells was born on April 22, 1830 to Rufus and Sylvia Blackinton Wells in Massachusetts. Maria Elisabeth Wells was born in 1827 to Virgil and Hannah Sweet Robinson Blackington in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Henry and Maria were married on August 1, 1851 in Adams, Massachusetts. They later had four children: Ada, Eugene, Virgil, and John.
Henry worked as a wool manufacturer, coal merchant and, when the family moved to North Adams, Massachusetts in 1887, as a clerk at Troy and Greenfield rail road. Maria passed away in 1910, after which Henry moved to Queens, New York.
Henry passed away on January 20, 1920 in New York.
