Collection contains letters of correspondence throughout the lives of Audra and Joel Moss, including World War II, mission and traveling letters; course materials for various marriage and family life courses and workshops; scrapbooks (including ones from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Europe, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Greece, New Zealand, Egypt, Israel, Norway, Denmark, France, England and Italy); journals (including one of John W. Moss from 1915); church and various family related books; poems and plays of Audra; various papers and publications from both.

Biographical History
John Joel Moss (born 1922) is a professor of home economics and family life, teaching at several universities including Brigham Young University.
Joel Moss was born August 17, 1922 in Rigby, Idaho, to John W. Moss and Zelma West Moss. He attended Ricks College and received his mission call the summer after his graduation from Ricks. He served in Hawaii, and two weeks later the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. In October 1944 he was drafted into the army and sent to Europe. He attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in September after returning home from Europe. He and Audra were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 26, 1948. He received his BS and MS from Brigham Young University in 1948 and 1949 and then his PhD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1954. He taught at West Virginia University (1954-1956) and University of Nebraska (1956-1959), and then was coordinator of research programs in home economics at Southern Illinois University (1959-1961). He then taught at BYU as a professor of Family Life Education until he retired in 1991. His accomplishments have included producing national presentation TV programs on marriage, publishing articles in professional journals and books, and being one of few Americans who participated in an international seminar on family research in Oslo, Norway (1963).

Audra Lucile Call Moss (born 1923) is a teacher and author, teaching at various places including Brigham Young University.
Audra Moss was born December 12, 1923, in Rigby, Idaho. Valedictorian of Rigby High School in 1942, she then earned her BA in Speech and Dramatic Art and Secondary Education from Brigham Young University in 1948. Before obtaining her degree she served as a missionary in the Western States Mission in 1946. Later, she taught business, dramatic arts, speech, and English at high schools in Idaho and South Carolina, and then junior high in Provo, Utah. She obtained her MA in Theatre Arts and Communication also from Brigham Young University in 1970. She taught at Brigham Young University from 1973 to 1984. She received her doctorate in 1986. she was also the author of many poems, plays, and articles for professional journals and television.
