Biographical History

Donald Godfrey is a professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. This collection consists primarily of interviews he conducted of Arizona residents and of other miscellaneous histories he gathered.

"Personal History Interview and Life Story of Franklin Lant Haymore", compiled by Donald Godfrey, June 1983 (Lant was president of the Arizona State Genealogical Society in Tucson, Arizona and president of the Franklin Demarcus Haymore Family Organization). 2. "Trella Scarlett Ellsworth Personal History Interview," conducted by Donald Godfrey, June 1988 (Trella is from Arizona and has served as Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society President, and ward and Stake Young Women's President). 3. "Life Story of ElDean Bennett, 1928-2001," compiled by ElDean Bennett and family (Bennett worked for the Utah radio station KSL and his life story includes information about the history of KSL). 4. "Kenneth Harold McLean: Oral History Interview," conducted by Donald Godfrey, 1982 (McLean served as the bishop in Tucson, Arizona). 5. "Ronald H. Bean Personal History Interview," conducted by Donald Godfrey, July 1984 (Bean was a bishop in the Seattle, Washington area). 6. "Burk Family History," by Lot S. Burk (the Burks are an Arizona family). 7. "Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah Oral History Project, July-December 1985" (information collected on ten topics of Paiute life from fourteen members of the Paiute Indian Tribe). 8. "Philo Dibble's Reminiscences of Early Church History and the Prophet Joseph Smith," compiled by Marilyn A. Smith and Celia Smith, 1995. 9. "Facing the Fire," and "Hardship," by Warren A. Pease (Two narrative accounts of life experiences. Pease eventually settled in Tucson, Arizona. Also included are digitally reproduced, printed photographs of Warren A. Pease's grandfather and family on their homestead in Star Valley [Wyoming]).
