This autobiographical account discusses Packer's youth in Fielding, Utah, his mission to the Eastern States, his education, his marriage and children, his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, and his teaching at Brigham Young University. It also gives brief histories of his parents.

Biographical History
Thane J. Packer was born December 12, 1914 in Fielding, Utah. He attended Utah State University and graduated with a Bachelor in Science in 1939. He received his Masters degree in Health Education from Brigham Young University and a doctorate in Education from the University of Utah. He taught school in Logan, Utah and then served as an executive for the Boy Scouts of America. He joined the faculty of Brigham Young University in 1959. He served as Chairman of the Department of Youth Leadership in the College of Physical Education. He married Palmyra Bean in 1937 and they had four children.
