Austin and expresses Beers' gratitude for being elected a member of th Northwestern Literary and Historical Society. The letter of 1894 is addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth and gives information on where biographical materials may be found on him.

Carpenter informing him that he had been nominated for membership in the National Geographic Society. In 1916 Bell writes to A. J. Flynn telling him it is a pleasure to "hand you my autograph."
