Caption on item: "General view of Wire Rope Mill at the Pittsburg Plant of Columbia Steel Company, a U.S. Steel’s subsidiary. Stranding and laying machines used in the manufacture of wire rope in various sizes are shown. The wire products of this mill bear the trade name Tiger Brand and are used in many industries, including the logging and number industry."
