Caption on item: "Wire rope products are produced in this mill at the Pittsburg, California, Plant of Columbia Steel Company, a Western subsidiary of U.S. Steel Corporation. Stranded wire for a host of applications, important among them the heavy cable used by the logging industry, bear the familiar USS Tiber Brand trade name. Cable for San Fansisco’s famed Cable Cars are likewise produced in this mill."
