Caption on item: "This weaving machine, which performs the same function as machines used in the textile industry, weaves wire fish trap netting at the Wire Mill of Columbia Steel Company’s Pittsburg, California, Plant. Mike Constantino is shown rethreading a spindle in the machine. The woven netting is shown emerging at the top of the machine. Supplying fish trap netting to West Coast fisher – men is a seasonal operation at the Pittsburg Plant. These wire traps are placed on the ocean bottom to trap salmon."
