General note
Caption on item: "WY Ore Mine," and "The rugged beauty fo Wyoming's Wind River Mountains will form a sceninc setting for U. S. Steel's future iron ore mining and benefication operations in Fremont County, near Lander. Low-grade tactonite, open pit mined from the big ore deposit (upper center), will go through a three-stage crushing and screening facility, as shown, before entering the concentrating plant, where its iron content will be boosted above 60 per cent mark. Next, the pelletizing plant will convert the ore concentrate -- undet terrific heat - - into marble-sized pellets for shipment to Columbia-Geneva Steel's Geneva Works, near Provo, Utah. The Operations will be completed late in 1962."
