Earl Spencer Duerden collection, 1943-1945

File contails materials relating to the service of Earl Spencer Duerden in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a navigator on a Patrol Ventura in Patrol Bombing Squadron 137. Materials contain audio cassette, photocopied photographs, photocopied military documents, photocopied flight log and a color photocopied photograph. Duerden recounts on tape his experiences as a navigator in what he calls the "China, Burma, India Theater" of World War II. Describes his missions over much of the South Pacific including Moritai, the Philippines, Formosa (Taiwan), and the coast of mainland China. He also tells of his various training phases, and of how his religion affected him during the war. Dated 1944-1945.
