Scope and Contents
Materials include a memoir detailing the service of Rulon Parnell Draper in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. In his memoir, simply titled "Military Service: 1941-1945", Draper shares experiences from his enlistment through his service in the Pacific Theater of World War II to his discharging and marriage shortly thereafter. Describes his participation in many of the major battles of the Marines in the Pacific, including Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Saipan, and Okinawa as a field cook and member of a Howitzer team. Dated 1941-1981.
