Materials contain papers regarding John Winston Downs' service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Includes photocopied photographs, original computer typewritten letter, photocopied typewritten letter and autobiography. Autobiography describes family life and childhood, military training, experiences as a navigator and POW, as well as his recovery and recuperation. Also details his accomplishments and personal life as an officer in the U.S. Air Force after its creation from the U.S. Army Air Corps. Dated 1966-1998.
