Scope and Contents
This series contains color transparancies, 35mm slides, 7x7 cm slides and black and white prints taken by Willard Luce. The series contains images of landmarks which include national and park monuments and buildings. Also included are photographs of LDS temples, BYU campus and Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City.

Biographical History
Celia Geneva Larsen Luce (1914- 2008) was an author, poet, and educator in Utah.
Celia Geneva Larsen Luce was born December 3, 1914, in Provo, Utah. She was the daughter of Bent Franklin Larsen and Marthat Geneva Day Larsen. Celia earned a Normal Degree from BYU in 1936 and a B.S. in 1938. She taught elementary school in Bear River City, Utah (1936-37). She taught in Spring Lake, Utah (1938-1940). Durning World War II she taught in the Alpine School District. Celia was a writer and had many articles and poems published that were accompanied by Wilalrd's photographs. She died in 2008 and was buried in the Provo City cemetery.

Willard Ray Luce, Jr. (1914-1990) was an educator, writer, and photographer in Utah.
Willard Ray Luce, Jr., educator, writer, and photographer, was born Sept. 18, 1914, in Price, Utah. He was the son of Willard Ray Luce, Sr., and Rachel Olsen Luce. He married Celia Grnrva Larsen on June 3, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah. During World War II, from 1945-46, he served in the Merchant Marines.
Willard attended BYU and earned a Normal Degree in 1938 and a B.S. in 1947. He taught school in San Juan County, Utah (1938-19544). He taught in the Alpine School District, Orem, Utah (1944-45, 1948-54 and 1955-1973). He taught jounalism courses at BYU (1946-1947).Willard was a member of the League of Writers, serving as state President in 1948-49. Willard wrote numerous stories and atricles that were published in various magazine, newspapers and textbooks. He was also a prolific photographer. He especially photographed the western United States. He died in September 28, 1990.
