Materials contain papers regarding Ward Spencer Mace's U.S. Army during World War II. Includes photocopied photographs, a photocopied newspaper article, photocopied bridge plans. Recounts his induction and training as an artilleryman, continues to relate how he changed units several times, eventually to a combat engineer unit that went with the 28th Infantry and cleared land mines ahead of the other soldiers. Describes his participation fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, and in the Philippines. Dated 1941-1942, before 2001.
