Materials contain Parley William Despain's World War II memoir. Describes his work building a telephone line from the continental United States up to Alaska, and then being sent to the European Theater to construct and repair telecommunications along the front lines of World War Two, for part of the time very close to the Battle of the Bulge, and shortly after the landings at Omaha Beach, Normandy. Explains his day-to-day life as well as some of the more prominent events of his military service. Dated before 2001.
