Scope and Contents

Contains a 'History of Marian Park Vincent and Daniel Vincent' (including a bio of Harvey John and Louisa Park Harper, a father's blessing on Louisa Park, patriarchal blessing on John Park, obituary of Louisa Smith Park, and clipping about the accidental death of young Albert Andrew Park), a photograph of their house with its corresponding deed, and a news clipping about Marian's mother, Mary Brockbank Park. Also contains scrapbook compiled by Mary Ann B. Vincent which contains various clippings. Dated approximately 1818-1990.

Biographical History

Marian Park Vincent (1845-1926) was the wife of Daniel Vincent and an ancestor of Virlie Vincent Westwood.

Marian Vincent was born Marian Park on April 6, 1845 in Ontario, Canada to John and Louisa Smith Park. Her family joined the LDS church in 1840 and crossed the plains arriving in Salt Lake Valley in 1847 with John Taylor's company. In 1849 she moved with her family to Provo where they lived in the Utah Fort. She married Daniel Vincent on February 22, 1867 in the Salt Lake Endowment House. She was heavily involved in her Relief Society and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Marian Park Vincent passed away April 10, 1926.

Biographical History

Daniel Vincent (1840-1923) was an ancestor of Virlie Vincent Westwood.

Daniel Vincent was born April 11, 1840 in Wales to Daniel and Elizabeth Mills Vincent. His family joined the LDS church in 1849 and immigrated to the United States in 1850. They crossed the plains with Captain Jolley's ox team company to Provo, Utah. He stood as a guard against Johnston's army in the Utah War. On February 22, 1867, he married Marian Park in the Salt Lake Endowment House. He helped to build the Utah Stake Tabernacle and ward meeting houses in Provo. He was a member of the Black Hawk War Veterans. Daniel Vincent passed away March 26, 1923 in Provo, Utah.
