Autograph letter signed, from H.S.S. Smith to Elisha, ink has faded and is very light, just arrived in Lawrence (Kansas) and feels very welcome, describes the condition of the university and various departments, enjoys his job teaching, 3 pp., all written on both sides, 16 February 1879.
