Edward M. Hayhurst letters, 1864 October
Scope and Contents
Contains twelve letters written by Edward Hayhurst to his father Isaac during October 1864. The letters were written while Edward continued to recover from his illness and ulcers, mainly in the General Hospital in Nashville; he was transferred to the Joe Holt General Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana, then to the Dennison Hospital near Cincinnati, Ohio, before being furloughed home at the end of October 1864. The furlough lasted until February 1865.
