Abraham H. Cannon diary volume 11, 1889 May-December
Scope and Contents
Abraham continues to write about his family, work, and church life. Abraham travels throughout Utah to speak at many funerals and church meetings. His wife Mina and her children are hurt in a horse-and-buggy accident. He goes on a business trip to the Eastern United States to select machinery for his office. Abraham is called to serve as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles alongside his father, who is a member of the First Presidency. He discusses the affairs of the Church and its role in building up the community. He also discusses the disenfranchisement of the Saints because of polygamy. Church members are accused of government disloyalty. Dated 1889 May to December.
