Scope and Contents

Contains ten letters from Edward Hayhurst to his father or "Our Folks," his mother, or his brother Joseph, during July 1863. The letters were written while Hayhurst's unit was on the move between the Elk River area and camp in Manchester, Tennessee. Hayhurst was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on July 7 while on the road.
