Edward M. Hayhurst letters, 1864 March-April
Scope and Contents
Contains fifteen letters written by Edward Hayhurst to his father, his mother, or his brother Joseph during March and April 1864. The letters were written while Hayhurst's unit was on the road from Knoxville, Tennessee, up to New Market and over to Morristown, then back south through Knoxville and several other towns to Cleveland, Tennessee.
No notable battles were recorded during this period, although Hayhurst spent about a week in a convalescent camp recovering from rheumatism in his feet.
