Edward M. Hayhurst letters, 1863 April
Scope and Contents
Contains sixteen 16 original letters from Edward hayhurst to his mother and/or father, or his brother Joseph, during April 1863. The letters were all written while at army headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee as clerk; during April, the unit narrowly missed being called into battle, and Hayhurst was field-hospitalized for dysentery. Also included is an army circular from the "Union League of Allegheny Co., Pa. to the Army of the Cumberland."
