Abraham H. Cannon diary volume 15, 1891 July-December
Scope and Contents
This volume contains more details of Abraham's work life, family life, and Church calling. His wife Mary has a child who dies a week after its birth. Joseph F. Smith, after receiving a pardon from U.S. President Harrison, is able to come out of seclusion. Other members of the Church continue to struggle with the law due to polygamy. There is discussion of a Second Manifesto to reaffirm the Church’s new stance on plural marriage and to clarify what polygamists should do in regard to their current families. Abraham also writes about world affairs. Dated 1891 July to December.
