Administrative History

The Advisory Council (est. 1982) was an advisory committee of the Division of Continuing Education.

The Division of Continuing Education Advisory Council was established by dean William R. Siddoway in 1982. Composed of members of the university faculty, the council was charged with advising Continuing Education on educational needs, and on the promotion and publicity of their programs. It was also responsible for reviewing the division's programs and performance, and for recommending policy and procedure changes. As a secondary goal, the committee members also provided a means of communicating with the colleges and departments on campus about the division's work. The chair of the council was the dean of Continuing Education.
