Administrative History

The Creative Works Committee (approximately 2005- 2010) was responsible for promoting creative work among library faculty at Brigham Young University.

The Committee reviewed proposals for projects and made recommendations to the University Librarian regarding the granting of funds and leaves. The Committee worked to ensure that professional development resources were awarded where they would return the greatest benefit to the Library and acts as a check to prevent misuse or abuse of funds and privilages.

The Creative Works Committee changed titles to the Scholarship and Creative Works Committee in 2010.

Administrative History

The Scholarship and Creative Works Committee (2010- ) is responsible for promoting creative work among library faculty at Brigham Young University.

The Committee reviews proposals for creative projects that will result in a product. The Committee makes recommendations to the University Librarian regarding the granting of funds. In this way, the Committee works to ensure that resources are awarded where they will return the greatest benefit to the Library and acts as a check to prevent misuse of funds or abuse of privileges.

The Scholarship and Creative Works Committee consists of five members. Three members are elected, one from each library division (Public Services, Special Collections, and Technical Services). Two members are appointed from the Library faculty at large by the Library Administrative Council. The Associate University Librarian is an ex officio member of the Committee. The Committee selects one of its members to act as chair. Each member serves for two years. Appointments and elections are staggered to maintain continuity within the Committee.
