Restricted. Closed for 35 years from the date of creation of the records, and thereafter open to the public in accordance with the University Archives Policy.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Center for Instructional Design records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.
The Brigham Young University Center for Teaching and Learning (2007- ) is responsible for assisting faculty and departments in improving the teaching and learning process.
The Center for Teaching and Learning formed in 2007 when the Center for Instructional Design and part of the Faculty Center reorganized. It is responsible for improving the teaching and learning process as well as assisting new faculty in their transfer to Brigham Young University. Directors include Russell T. Osguthorpe (2007-2013) and Nancy Wentworth (2013- ).
The Brigham Young University Center for Instructional Design (1999-2007) functioned to help university faculty develop educational curriculum and technology.
The Center for Instructional Design was founded in 1999. It was reorganized in 2007 under the name Center for Teaching and Learning. Scott L. Howell served as its director from 1999 to 2005 and Jonathan Mott served as its director from 2005 to 2007.
