Scope and Contents

Contains videorecordings on DVDs and videotapes of plays done by the Department of Theatre and Media Arts. Most of the plays were directed by Marion Bentley which include Charley's Aunt, Brigadoon, Secret Garden, and some others. Materials date from 1951 to 2003, bulk from 1989 to 2003.

Restricted. Closed for 25 years (until 2028) after the creation of the records and therafter open to the public after consultation with the University Archivist and in accordance with the General Restriction Statement of the L. Tom Perry Special Collections.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from the Department of Theatre and Media Arts production records must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L. Tom Perry Special Collections Coordinating Committee.

The Department of Theatre and Media Arts (1997- ) teaches classes about theatre, cinema, artistic criticism and performance skills at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

The Department of Theatre and Media Arts was part of the College of Fine Arts and Communications beginning in 1997. Previously, it was known as the Department of Theatre and Film. The Department Chairs include: Eric Fielding from 1997 to 1998, Robert A. Nelson from 1998 to 2005, Rodger D. Sorensen from 2004 to 2011, and Wade Hollingshaus is the current TMA department chair.
